ABSTRACT
Asian families have strong intergenerational ties that defines roles each generation take within familial relations. However, to date there is limited research that assesses how modern-day Asian familial relations could simultaneously enhance the health and well-being of grandparents and grandchildren, particularly those who live in metropolitan areas. Using Activity Theory and the four aspects of ‘Health’, namely physical, psychological, social, and spiritual health, this research aims to gain insight into how young and elderly family members living in Bangkok find ways to utilize their strong familial relationships and activities to contribute to the well-being of each generation.
