Abstract
A two-dimensional coupled problem in electromagneto-thermoelasticity for a thermally and electrically conducting half-space solid whose surface is subjected to a thermal shock is considered. In this work, we introduce the modified Ohm's law, including the temperature gradient and charge density effects to the equations of the linear theory of generalized magneto-thermoelasticity, allowing the second sound effects. There acts an initial magnetic field parallel to the plane boundary of the half-space. The normal mode analysis is used to obtain the exact expressions for the considered variables. The distributions of the considered variables are represented graphically.
