SpringerLink as a Platform for Electronic Books

Pages 193-205 | Published online: 21 Nov 2013

Abstract

SpringerLink is a platform that promotes access to all Springer's electronic resources; searchers specifically interested in e-books must do some sorting. The platform is simple to navigate and search, and although SpringerLink does not offer the additional research tools found in some databases, the focus on efficient access to materials and clear indication of which items are available to a user are strengths of the site. Researchers will find straightforward search and results-refining features with a minimum of distractions. The ease of access and extensive collection make this publisher an option worth considering for libraries interested in increasing e-book holdings in science, technology, and medicine fields.
