Pages 257-267 | Published online: 27 May 2009

Abstract

This study is concerned with the very topical issue of assessing electricity production technologies according to sustainable development criteria. The objective is to be able to classify the most important production electricity technologies according to the three pillars of sustainable development: economic, environmental, and social sustainability. Our classification is based on multi-criteria tools respecting the non-compensation of bad performances. Thanks to our results, we can make technological choices with greater objectivity.
