Abstract
Two coordination polymers, [Mn(Hmidc)(H2O)2]n (H3midc = 2-methyl-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid) (1) and [Zn (Hpidc)(H2O)]n (H3pidc = 2-propyl-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxy lic acid) (2), have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Both compounds 1 and 2 are one-dimensional chain structures in which imidazole carboxylate ligands bridge metal ions by μ 2-mode. Furthermore these chains join each other forming three-dimensional supramolecular networks through hydrogen bonds. The thermal stabilities of the two compounds have been also investigated.
