Abstract
In this work we have investigated the photoluminescence and non-linear optical properties of aqueous synthesized thioglycolic acid (TGA) and 1-thioglycerol (TG) stabilized CdTe nanocrystals (NCs). The photoluminescence intensity of TGA capped NCs was very higher than that for TG capped NCs. XRD and TEM analysis demonstrated cubic phase NCs with an average size about 4.2 nm. The non-linear refractive index was in order of 10–8 cm2/W and the non-linear absorption coefficient was obtained in order of 10–3 cm2/W with negative sign.
