Abstract

The title complex, [CuBr(anp)] n (1)(anp=2-amino-5-nitropyri dine), was synthesized from a solvothermal reaction of anp with CuBr·4H2O, and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Complex 1 crystallizes in monoclinic space group P21/c with a = 3.853(6) Å, b = 7.368(11) Å, c = 29.04(4) Å, and β = 93.19(2)°. The structure of 1 shows a 1-D stair-like chain, which is formed by the interconnection of -[Cu2Br2]- step-like units and monodentate anp ligands. Weak hydrogen bonds between amino groups and –NO2 groups from neighboring chains assemble chains to form a supra-layer along the ab plane.
