Abstract
Cost effective co-precipitation method is used to synthesize strontium calcium manganite with nitrate precursors. The X-ray diffraction studies and defect analysis by first principle calculation shows that due to increase in calcium concentration monoclinic to orthorhombic phase change occurs. The microwave properties are studied using voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) and waveguide reflectometer method. In the high frequency (8–12 GHz) range, the microwave properties (permittivity, permeability, and absorbance) of strontium calcium manganite depend on concentration of calcium. At 9 GHz frequency (Sr1–xCax) MnO3 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) shows about 80% absorption.
