All four authors are currently affiliated with the Communication Department at North Dakota State University: Nadene N. Vevea defended her dissertation and will received her PhD in May 2011; Robert S. Littlefield received his PhD from the University of Minnesota and is a Chamber of Commerce NDSU Distinguished Professor; Julie Fudge has a master of business administration degree from the University of Mary, North Dakota, and is currently a doctoral student; and Andrea Weber earned her bachelor of science degree from North Dakota State University and is currently a master's student. All four authors share an interest in risk and crisis communication research; and all four volunteered in the Fargo/Moorhead community during the flooding of the Red River of the North.
