Abstract
Simple and precise methods have been developed for the determination of ethanol in blend petrol using gas chromatography and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy techniques. The methods can determine a minimum quantity of 1% of alcohol in petrol. The precision of the methods is ±2%. The developed methods are useful in the quality assurance of ethanol blend petrol.
