Abstract
The effects of chlorpyrifos, pyriproxyfen and acetamiprid were examined on life table and detoxifying enzymes of Pulvinaria aurantii Cockerell. The LC50 values were 215.1, 92.8 and 126.7 ppm for tested pesticides, respectively. Low lethal concentration (LC30) of pyriproxyfen had the highest severe effect on life table parameters of P. aurantii. The intrinsic rate of increase was reduced to 0.161 day−1 in pyriproxyfen treatment as compared with 0.180 day−1 in the control. The lowest enzymatic activities were recorded for first instar treated with chlorpyrifos. The combination of lethal and sublethal effects of pyriproxyfen can be incorporated in management of this pest.
