Figure 1. (a) Summation of the number of papers reviewed that met each of the different specified criteria necessary for TEI qualification. A total of 80 papers were analysed for each TEI criteria category. Criteria on the x-axis include 1 = inheritance of phenotypes; 2 = inheritance of epigenetic marks; 3 = inheritance of the same epimutations; 4 = gene expression changes across generations; and 5 = germ cell tested in each generation. The numbers above each column depict the total number of papers that met the qualifications for that criteria category.
