Figure 1. Effect of heat stress and elevated CO2 on maximum photochemical efficiency of PSII (Fv/Fm) in Arabidopsis. Chlorophyll a fluorescence imaging was used to determine photosynthetic performance of wild-type Col-0, SA signaling blockage mutants and hsp mutant lines. Four weeks old Arabidopsis plants (wild-type and mutants) were exposed to either ambient CO2 (Amb., 380 µmol mol−1) or elevated CO2 (Ele., 800 µmol mol−1) for 5 d and then challenged with high temperature (42°C) for 24 h under ambient or elevated CO2.
