Collaborating Virtually: Using Second Life to Teach Collaboration

Abstract

Objectives: Students will experience collaboration in a virtual environment, analyze the collaboration process and outcomes, reflect on their communication choices during the collaboration, and better understand how and why communication strategies may need to be altered when collaborating while using communication technologies

Courses: Small Group Communication, Computer-Mediated Communication, Communication Theory, Collaboration, and Negotiation
