ABSTRACT
Clinical Coaches play a very important role in supporting the development of Student Veterinary Nurses to become qualified members of the team. Clinical Coaches often need to overcome multiple obstacles to be able to carry out their role. Some of the top challenges they face are; supporting inexperienced students, overcoming tight time constraints and guiding Student Veterinary Nurses through both academic and pastoral problems. The solutions to overcome these issues are summarised within six top tips.

Larissa May qualified from the University of Bristol in 2017 with a Veterinary Nursing and Bioveterinary science degree. Since then she has been working within a first opinion practice (Watkins and Tasker). More recently, she has been working simultaneously as an RVN in clinical practice and as a Placement Officer at the University of Bristol, where she supports CCs and oversees students within placement.
