ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: The following article describes the black crested macaque, an endemic species in Sulawesi, Indonesia. It looks at the current issues that the species faces and why their numbers are endangered. Tasikoki Wildlife Centre is a rescue and rehabilitation facility in Sulawesi working with the government to protect these macaques and help fight for their future protection.

Jessica Ashby RVN FdSc
Jess qualified as an RVN in 2016 at the RVC after completing the foundation degree in veterinary nursing. Since she has qualified her main interests lie in companion animal behaviour, medical nursing and wildlife conservation. She currently works for an independent practice in Erith, Kent. She visited Tasikoki Wildlife Centre in Sulawesi, Indonesia in October 2019 where she volunteered in their veterinary clinic for two weeks.
