GOAL 1: No Poverty	Vitally important, but in terms of hazards this is probably articulated through droughts although all major hazards can create impoverishment and poverty.
GOAL 2: Zero Hunger	Similar to the above.
GOAL 3: Good Health and Well-being	Many hazards cause health deterioration and these are important topics to research
GOAL 5: Gender Equality	Many hazard have important differences between genders as to impacts and recovery
GOAL 6: Clean Water and Sanitation	The hazard of polluted water for human use and consumption
GOAL 10: Reduced Inequality	Much research reported in Environmental Hazards focuses on inequalities created or perpetuated in hazard situations. This is an important aspect of editorial policy.
GOAL 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities	Many urban hazards disrupt cities and the communities that live there, creating unsustainable conditions.
GOAL 13: Climate Action	Vitally important and the focus of an increasing volume of research reported in the journal.
GOAL 15: Life on Land	The avoidance of desertification is an important objective here
GOAL 16: Peace and Justice Strong Institutions	Increasing volumes of research recognises the institutional constraints to hazard reduction and risk mitigation.
GOAL 17: Partnerships to achieve the Goal	Many researchers reporting in Environmental Hazards recognise the importance of partnerships in creating the conditions for risk reduction and recovery from specific events.
