1 Like everyone who began school under Bantu Education, I grew up knowing that there were many different kinds of Zulu: yard Zulu and street Zulu; home Zulu and school Zulu, and township Zulu and rural Zulu.
2 Rural Zulu was the real Zulu, pure Zulu, the Zulu you had to learn and master if you wanted to pass.
