2 “Both holdups occurred in Observatory, a mainly white working/middleclass area in the Southern Suburbs (of Cape Town). In one holdup Raaff was injured by a bullet” (MacKenny, Citation2011).

3 “Google Earth, an Earth mapping program utilizing satellite images and aerial photography, was available for use on personal computers in 2005. It was thus a relatively new tool for public use at the time that Raaff decided to use it” (MacKenny, Citation2011).

Gabrielle Raaff

Gabrielle Raaff was born in 1970 in Johannesburg and lives in Cape Town. She graduated with a BAFA (HDE) from the University of Stellenbosch in 1992.
