In conversation with Katherine Olivetti, Stanislav Grof and Richard Tarnas, who have collaborated for over four decades, speak candidly, exploring perinatal experience, non-ordinary states of consciousness, archetypal patterns, and astrology as a transpersonal phenomenon.

Katherine Olivetti
Stanislav Grof, MD, PhD, is a psychiatrist with more than fifty years' experience researching the healing and transformative potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness. He is one of the founders and chief theoreticians of transpersonal psychology, and the founding president of the International Transpersonal Association. He served as Principal Investigator at the Psychiatric Research Institute in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Chief of Psychiatric Research at the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Grof is a professor of psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. Among his publications are over 150 papers in professional journals and many books, including Realms of the Human Unconscious,Beyond the Brain, LSD Psychotherapy, Psychology of the Future, When the Impossible Happens, The Ultimate Journey, and Healing Our Deepest Wounds.
