In the second sentence of the ‘Results’ section, we stated that: “In the arid region and on the Tibetan Plateau, the variance of NUMdays in January, February, and October–December was high (about 2–3; Figure 1b).” The corrected description is as below: In the arid region and on the Tibetan Plateau, the variance of NUMdays in January, February, and October–December was high (about 40–80 day2; Figure 1b).
