Stergios A. Seretis studied international economics at the Department of International Economic Relations and Development, Democritus University of Thrace. He holds two MA Degrees in international economic relations and regional development economics. He also holds a PhD in economics with specialisation in political economy of development. He is post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Economics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. His current research is on political economy, economics of competition and economic development. His recent publications include “Value Transfers in Trade: An Explanation of the Observed Differences in Development” (International Journal of Social Economics, 2012), and “Why Europe's South Suffer? Do Value Transfers in Trade Contribute to It?” (forthcoming, Review of Radical Political Economics), both cooperated with P. Tsaliki.
