ABSTRACT
The 21st century brings key changes and challenges confronting the patriarchal culture of the U.S. military. Military women and veterans (MWV) are a new generation of soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen, and guardsmen raised in a country that promotes equality but serve in a military that routinely places the needs of males over that of females. MWV and their families face challenges on a daily basis that the majority of civilian couples in the United States of America rarely face once in their lifetime. As the percentages of MWV increases, the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs must develop and provide services to meet the needs of our warrior women.
