Developing the Global Student: Higher Education in an Era of Globalization

Pages 270-272 | Published online: 20 Nov 2015

Abstract

The development of transcultural competency in today’s students, or the students' ability to reflect on the world and themselves through the lens of another culture, is an emerging area of study and concern in higher education. David Killick’s new book, Developing the Global Student: Higher Education in an Era of Globalization advocates for a new way to define the desired outcome of student development from campus internationalization efforts, as one that focuses on the concept of the global-self.
