Distinct chromatin remodelers and chaperons direct the deposition of histone variants during replication (chromatin assembly factor-1, CAF-1), repair synthesis in homologous recombination (alpha-thalassemia mental retardation X-linked protein, ATRX, and the chaperon death domain associated protein, DAXX) and transcription (histone regulator A, HIRA).
