Background Historical Note:
Ishould also note that there wasa U.S. Army base with 155 mm anti-aircraft guns situated in a forested area near our rural home – intended to defend the Boeing aircraft assembly factory at the south end of Lake Washington from Soviet long-range bombers. The “Long Toms” was towed up and down our then country road by tracked vehicles. The base was later closed when a Nike anti-aircraft missile base was established even further east beyond Lake Sammamish – the next lake over.
