Abstract
In this study, the Fe-benzentricarboxylic (Fe-BTC) metal-organic framework was synthesized by sonochemistry in mixtures of solvents (DMF: H2O: Ethanol) with different volume ratios. The performance of synthesized samples was investigated for photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue under UV irradiation. The as-prepared photocatalysts were characterized by FT-IR, PXRD, FESEM, PL, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The Fe-BTC 0.4:0.2:0.4 sample with highest ability for light absorption shows the highest photocatalytic activity. Besides, the active radical of hydroxyl and electron may play a significant role on degradation. The results of photocatalytic activity demonstrated that samples without water or ethanol have not good proficiency.
