ABSTRACT

A capacitive immunosensor, based on Schistosoma japonicum antibody (SjAb) immobilized on the gold electrode surface via protein A (PrA), has been prepared for the detection of Schistosoma japonicum antigen (SjAg). The assay conditions were optimized, including the amount of SjAb loading at the electrode, the ionic strength and pH of the solution. The optimized system can measure SjAg in the range of 0.4–18 ng/mL with a detection limit of 0.1 ng/mL. It exhibits some advantages such as simplicity of fabrication, rapidity of assay, and good sensitivity.
