Abstract

New type of silver composite electrode prepared from silver, graphite powder, and methacrylate resin was examined. Electrodes with varied content of silver (10, 15, 20%) were used for the determination of 2-nitronaphtalene by differential pulse (DPV) and direct current voltammetry (DCV). The application of this electrode in differential pulse cathodic stripping voltammetry enables the direct determination of nitrocompounds without elimination of the presence of dissolved oxygen. The electrode consisting of 15% of silver, 25% of graphite, and 60% of metacrylate resin was found as the most advantageous electrode for the determination of 2-nitronaphtalene.
