Abstract
Siloxane-azomethine liquid crystal (LC) dimmers and polymers of different mesogenic structure are compared from the standpoint of thermotropic LC behavior. Structure-properties relationships are discussed based on polarized light optical microscopy (PLM) observations, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermo-optical analyses (TOA), and theoretical calculations of mesogenic index, molecular polarizability, and axial ratio.
