The Convenient Synthesis of Amphiphilic Phenanthroline Derivatives

Abstract

Three novel amphiphilic 1,10-phenanthroline derivatives, 2-(4′-octadecyloxyphenyl)imidazo[4,5-f]1,10-phenanthroline (5), 2-(3′-methyloxy-4′-octadecyloxyphenyl)imidazo[4,5-f]1,10-phenanthroline (6), and 3-octadecyl-2-(4′-dimethylaminophenyl)imidazo [4,5-f]1,10-phenanthroline (7) were synthesized via a facile, two-step procedure.
