Abstract

A convenient synthesis of vicinal methoxychlorides, methoxyiodides, iodhydrines and iodocloride from alkenes using PhICl2/CH3OH, I2/PhICl2/CH3OH, I2/PhICl2/CH3CN/H2O and I2/PhICl2/CH2Cl2 is described.
