PREPARATION AND STRUCTURAL STUDIES ON METAL COMPLEXES OF SOME CARBOXAMIDES

Abstract

Transition metal [Pt(IV), Fe(III), Co(II) and Ni(II)] complexes of 5-amino-1-(aryl)imidazole-4-carboxamide (aryl =C₆H₅, C₆H₄CH₃ and C₆H₄-OCH₃) were prepared and characterized by microchemical analyses, infrared, electronic spectra and thermogravimetric analyses. The infrared spectra showed that these ligands coordinate to metal ions in a bidentate manner. Moreover, octahedral structures are suggested for all the studied complexes.
