ABSTRACT

A series of di- and triorganotin(IV) carboxylates of 4-p-(chlorophenyl)-2-phenyl-5-thiazoleacetic acid has been synthesized and characterized by various instrumental techniques such as infrared, 1H, 13C, 119Sn NMR, mass spectrometry and thermal analysis. These compounds were also tested for their antibacterial and antifungal activities to study their biological significance.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

We are thankful to Prof B. Wrackmeyer, University of Bayreuth, Germany, for providing multinuclear NMR and mass facilities. SA is indebted to the Quaid-i-Azam University for financial support of the work under a University Research Fund program and the Alexander von Humboldt foundation for awarding the Georg Forster Research Fellowship.
