Abstract
This work has been undertaken with a view to studying the effect of barium content on the properties of lead lanthanum zirconate stannate titanate (PLZST) antiferroelectric ceramics. The polycrystalline complex compounds of PLZST with (Pb0·94−xLa0·04Bax)[(Zr0·70Sn0·30)0·88Ti0·12]O3 formula were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method. Studies of the microstructures, dielectric, ferroelectric and electromechanical properties of the ceramics were carried out. The results showed enhanced ferroelectricity stability when the barium content increases. The electric hysteresis was narrowed and the switching field was reduced with the increasing Ba content. Meanwhile the dielectric constant was increased and the temperature Tm that corresponded to the maximal dielectric constant was decreased.
