Abstract
In order to investigate the operating life of ductile cast iron cooling staves at high temperatures, high temperature tensile creep tests were carried out. The creep parameters A, m and n of the cast iron at different temperatures were obtained. The effects of gas temperature, slag skin and edge contact pressure on the creep deformation of cast iron cooling staves and cooling water pipes at high temperatures were quantitatively analysed by ABAQUS finite element program, coupled thermal/structural analysis and thermal tests in order to provide a theoretical basis for improving stave structural design, controlling creep deformation and proper installation and use of cooling staves.
