Abstract
Both anionic and cationic surfactants are perfect examples to reduce friction by lowering surface tension. The use of surfactant based liquids gains widespread application in the field of science, where reduction of material loss is highly desirable. In this work, dispersion of ionic surfactant such as sodium dodecyl sulphate, sodium hexametaphosphate and cetyl trimethylammonium bromide in water and oil was prepared by ultrasonication technique to measure the friction properties under the action of sliding contact.
