Availability of data and materials

The data on the cohort of the shortages are not publicly available, since data are related to specific products and manufacturers, which is confidential information. Data on costs for medicines as well as age and number of users are third‐party data. These data are not owned by the authors and belong to the Dutch Foundation for Pharmaceutical Statistics (SFK). The SFK welcomes applications from researchers for access to data. Applications are considered by the SFK Supervisory Board.
