Injectable COX-2 inhibitor for postoperative pains

Abstract

A novel depot formulation of magnesium diparecoxib is claimed for parecoxib. An intramuscular injection of magnesium diparecoxib manifested low C_max and extended plasma half-life for valdecoxib. Benefits of having a depot formulation for parecoxib are discussed with regard to safety and convenience in dosing.
