The Effect of Preceding Self-Control on Green Consumption Behavior: The Moderating Role of Moral Elevation

Figure 1 An illustration of a single trial in the Stroop task. Each trial consists of fixation, a congruent task, or an incongruent task and feedback. After the fixation appears, participants were instructed to identify the displayed color of words and to ignore the semantic content of the words. In the congruent task, the displayed color of words was consistent with the meaning of the words, while in the incongruent task, the displayed color and word meaning were inconsistent. Last, the outcome feedback (right or wrong) was presented for 500 ms.
