Professor Srinivasa N Raja speaks to Nick Ward, commissioning editor, about his involvement in the IASP’s Global Year Against Neuropathic Pain: Professor Raja is co-chairperson of the Global Year Against Neuropathic Pain Task Force and Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Professor Raja also serves as director of the Division of Pain Medicine and director of Pain Research, both within the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. In addition to this, Professor Raja acts as an associate editor for Pain Management and section editor for Pain. Professor Raja has recently been elected as the Secretary of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and as the Chair for the Neuropathic Pain Special Interest Group (NeuPSIG), IASP.
