Abstract
The competitive adsorption of Zn(II), Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) in Zn(II)–Cu(II), Zn(II)–Co(II), Zn(II)–Ni(II), Cu(II)–Co(II), Cu(II)–Ni(II) and Co(II)–Ni(II) binary systems from aqueous solutions by Kryptofix 22 (Aza Crown Ether) functionalized silica gel (SIL-Crown) adsorbent were investigated. SIL-Crown adsorbent was characterized by FT-IR. The results exhibited that SIL-Crown adsorped Zn (II) in the systems of Zn(II)–Co(II) and Zn(II)–Ni(II). Thus SIL-Crown is favorable and useful for the removal of Zn(II), and high adsorption makes it a promising candidate for Zn(II) uptake.
