Figures & data

Table I. The expansion folds of total cells, CD34+ cells, and CFCs cultured with different cytokine combinations after 7-day culture.

Table II. The number of survival NOD/SCID mice in different groups after 6 weeks.

Figure 1. Level of engraftment of human CD45+ cells in bone marrow, spleen, and peripheral blood of recipient NOD/SCID mice transplanted with fresh CB cells or expanded cells with the cytokine combinations of STF and STF36. *p < 0.05, compared with the Fresh group. **p < 0.05, compared with the STF group.

Figure 2. An example of the expression of human ALU sequences in DNA extracted from BM cells of NOD/SCID mice engrafted with fresh and expanded CD34+ cells. DNA extracted from BM cells of NOD/SCID mice in control and human blood cells were used as negative (lane 1) and positive controls (lane 2), respectively. The PCR products of DNA extracted from BM cells of NOD/SCID mice in fresh cells, STF, and STF36 groups are shown in lanes 3, 4, and 5 respectively. The arrow shows that the sequence amplified by two primers is of 221 base pairs.
