Figure 1. Heat stress triggers TORC1 sequestration into stress granules. TORC1 is normally localized in the vicinity of the vacuolar membrane. Under heat stress, TORC1 dissociates from the vacuolar membrane and relocalizes to the stress granules, a process underpinning the protective response to heat-induced cellular damage.
