Abstract

Single photon emission tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography (PET), and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) were recently developed as useful tools for neuroophthalmological diagnosis. We have reviewed these methods and applications for different conditions such as: hemianopia, optic atrophy, dementing neurological syndromes with visual symptoms, and amblyopia.
