Pages 223-225 | Published online: 29 Sep 2008

Abstract

Crude drug samples were prepared from stem bark of 16 medicinal plants belonging to 9 different families, and screened for antibacterial activities against Gram positive (Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram negative (Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli) bacteria. Most of them showed good antibacterial activity against Gram positive bacteria, and some of them exhibited antibacterial activity against Gram positive as well as Gram negative bacteria.
