1 The retreat was funded by a SPARC grant from the University of the Witwatersrand.

2 Although the paper on which this article is based was written a few months before SHAW 2 and is based on SLED SASL poems, we decided to include it in this Cluster once the decision was made to publish the first body of work on SASL as it links strongly to the SHAW 2 material. Atiyah Asmal's For My Aunt was performed at SHAW 2.
