Purification of Allergenic Macromolecular Compounds Isolated from Air-borne Particles on Thin-Layer and Preparative Chromatography

Abstract

The chemical isolation of two allergic macromolecular compounds from airborne particles has been reported. In recent work, thin-layer chromatography requiring only minute amounts of substrate has met the need for rapid purification of these compounds without structural alteration. To obtain quantities of pure compounds, a preparative method was developed by which relatively large amounts of material can be handled with excellent resolution in a very short time.
