EEG Recordings on Patients Treated with High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation

Pages 113-123 | Published online: 10 Feb 2015

ABSTRACT.

This article shows that good quality EEGs may be obtained on newborn infants being treated with high-frequency oscillating ventilators. Physiologic monitoring is essential to correlate ventilator-induced artifacts. Secure electrodes, low impedances, and insulation of the infant's head from the bed are important. All normal waveforms and muscle artifacts can be recorded.
