Abstract
The relative-area difference sequence (ΔSr sequence) analytical method is proposed, with which the most similar herbal samples can be determined according to their contents. Together with common and variation peak ratio dual-index sequence analysis, one can identify the most similar sample group in the two-dimensional sequence accurately; therefore, the method can evaluate the quality of herbs.

Notes
a The samples were from Jianlian Medicine Store and identified by the chief pharmacist Yao Ting-zhi.
b The samples were from Mudan Limited Medicinal Company of Heze of Shandong province, P. R. China.
a Peaks in a column belong to a group of common peaks, normal tested with Wα = 0.05 (Zou et al. 2004); otherwise, they are variation peaks.
b The peaks of the same relative retention time are regarded as one peak in the test.
